Gymboree Group, Inc. is looking for a qualified interns to join our diverse team in the San Francisco corporate offices. The intern should be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment, and will finish the internship having gained broad experience in various aspects of Visual Merchandising. This will be a paid full-time summer internship, with an expected start date of 06/04/2018 and an expected end date of 08/03/2018.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Visual Merchandising Intern’s specific duties include, but may not be limited to:
Assist in creation of seasonal floor sets and window presentations to ensure we are relevant in the competitive landscape while continuing to push the brand(s) forward
Perform analysis of selling of items by placement with data from merchant/ planning teams
Prepare presentations of the competitive landscape in visual merchandising through comp shopping or pulling swipe to drive more innovation in floor sets and window presentations.
Research trend and store experience in relation to the next season’s floor set.
Perform basic photo shop work for brand presentation books.
Work closely with mentor to build skill sets to encompass a mix of creative and operational skills.
Maintain and organize samples prior to floor set prep and post book production.
Maintain tracking of current trends in the market place.
Participate in team meetings and store working sessions.
Currently enrolled and pursuing or recently completed Bachelors or Master’s degree at an accredited university, preferably in a visual merchandising and/or merchandising major.
Strong computer skills, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Creative Suites (In Design, Photoshop) are a must-have.
Possess excellent communication skills, both written & verbal and must have the ability to communicate effectively.
Strong organizational and time management skills and be able to manage multiple tasks, prioritize urgent needs and meet deadlines.
