What You’ll Do

In this role, you will work closely with the creative, copy, marketing, CRM and site management team to develop and produce the ecommerce website, email marketing campaigns and online marketing initiatives for the Gymboree brand.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Understand and translate business goals and promotions into visually compelling layouts and online user experiences.
  • Design graphics and page layouts for Gymboree’s website and email marketing ensuring quality across browsers and devices.
  • Be a champion of mobile first/responsive design – executing pages that elegantly scale from large desktop to small format phones.
  • Work closely with developer and responsible for loading, testing and deploying website and marketing emails in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Work with copywriters, business partners, social and integrated marketing teams to clarify objectives, revise creative and ensure accuracy for all projects.
  • Work with web creative manager to develop concepts from wireframes to product completion and launch.
  • Actively participate and help drive the creative process by presenting well-developed creative and strategic solutions to meet the given objectives.
  • Work with the email service provider to manage day to day operations while resolving issues and refining processes for launching emails.
  • Responsible for staying current on industry trends, while keeping all brands at the forefront for site/email design and best practices.
  • Work across creative disciplines to drive the best customer experience solution.
  • Assist in organizing and creating seasonal retouching notes from photo shoots that will be used for all digital assets.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop other designers and contractors while balancing personal workflow and priorities.
  • Provide effective feedback to drive successful designs and design systems, while inspiring and enhancing the efforts of a creative team.

Job Requirements

What You’ll Bring

  • BFA in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Visual Studies or other design-related field preferred.
  • 5-7 years of professional experience in web design or multimedia required.
  • Strong graphic design, layout, typography, image manipulation, and color correction skills and have relevant experience (ideally in a retail or ecommerce environment) with a lifestyle-oriented “trend-setting” brand.
  • Extremely proficient in Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and must be familiar with HTML and Dreamweaver.
  • Experience working Invision, Moveable Ink, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and Amplience a plus.
  • Detail-oriented, well organized and able to thrive in deadline driven environment.
  • Ability to manage competing, high priority projects while identifying creative solutions quickly and to self-direct under ambiguous and changing circumstances and/or tight deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Must be willing to be flexible in job duties and take on added responsibility when necessary.
  • Management experience a plus.
