What You’ll Do

In this role, you will work closely with the Design team and the VP, Merchandising to create and develop the merchandise mix to support and define the brand. This person will partner with Merchandise Planning to develop and execute future season financial plans by department, line, and classification through a clearly defined strategic plan. This individual will be responsible for performing in-season business reviews by department, line, and classification to ensure opportunities are maximized within the current and future business objectives. The Senior Merchandiser, Crazy 8 will partner with the Production team to drive achievement of IMU goals based on financial plans. They will also partner with the Marketing and Visual teams to develop and enhance ongoing marketing strategy development. The Senior Merchandiser, Crazy 8 will maintain an awareness of the competition relative to product quality/value as well as in relation to the customer. In addition, this person will provide leadership and management to an Assistant Merchandiser within the assigned category.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop pre-season strategic plans - sales, margin, and inventory with emphasis at the department/season code level.
  • Manage inventory levels from investment through allocation execution and recommend strategies consistent with departmental goals.
  • Manage sales, margin, markdowns and inventory turn on a weekly/monthly basis by evaluating in-season trends with existing pre-season strategies.
  • Partner with the Merchant team to identify key business concepts and opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with cross-functional partners - merchants, visual, marketing, store operations and allocation.
  • Collaborate with peers to ensure consistency of information and the sharing of best practices.

Job Requirements

What You’ll Bring

  • BA/BS degree required plus four years' experience in a Planner/Senior Planner role
  • Experience using both top down and bottoms up style plans
  • Clear understanding of basic financial measures: sales, gross margin, weeks on hand / weeks of supply, etc. and how to maximize them.
  • Strong presentation skills and story-telling ability to synthesize complex data into conclusions and recommendations in oral and written formats
  • Flexible and adaptive to changing priorities with intellectual curiosity and a willingness to iterate and improve processes
  • Strong skill set in Microsoft Excel and has ability and interest to master new technical applications
