Project Coordinator - Store Design and Construction

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the Gymboree Construction & Store Planning Department, and will work closely with the Construction Director and Project Managers.

Responsibilities include:

  • NEW DEAL STATUS – Real Estate
    • This person will be involved in the initial phase of the store delivery process, responsible for collecting, compiling, and distributing complete tenant packages (L.O.D., tenant criteria, and as-builts or as base building drawings) prior to project start. Update Unapproved Store tracking list and issue weekly.
  • This person will schedule all site surveys, solicit permitting requirements and timelines, set up all new projects on the SOF once approved and initiate all projects with our consultant architects.
  • Support of store construction projects includes following up on Landlord work and space delivery dates prior to construction start.
  • SOF – Responsible to update and issue weekly. Should be capable of updating all dates independently with the exception of project schedules which are provided by the PM’s.
  • PAPER TRAIL – Responsible of moving all files to the appropriate project folders in the paper trail in a timely manner.
  • PRELIMINARY DESIGN – Assist in prep for GG design meetings, attend meeting and issue notes.
  • CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT – This person will also be involved in the construction bidding process. Tasks include sending out invitations to bid to general contractors, receiving all bids, and compiling bid summaries for construction project manager to qualify.
  • Responsible for Mall Tenant Coordinators and/or Owner –LL information and store location addresses chart, update and issue to internal partners.
  • Permitting - manage permit expeditors to issue weekly status reports. Assist with various forms requested from the GC or permit expeditor, transmit, obtain signatures, etc.
  • Construction photos – print weekly job site photos for Director of Construction
  • PUNCHLIST – assist in following up on punchlist items after store opening.
  • Position will also include various ad-hoc projects and administrative tasks required to support the business throughout the year.

Job Requirements

What You’ll Bring

  • College level degree with a minimum 2 years experience in the retail and/or construction industry.
  • Experience reading construction documents and understanding construction methods a plus.
  • Must be able to work efficiently with all business partners including Real Estate, Store Operations, Finance, and IT.
  • Must be detailed oriented, demonstrate strong follow up and organizational skills, have the ability to multi-task, and maintain a sense of urgency.
  • PC based computer skills required.
