The Planning Analyst is responsible for executing merchandise financial strategies that support financial plan and objectives in a department or class. This individual will assist in developing merchandise financial strategies which support objectives of the brand and drive results that maximize sales, inventory and bottom line profitability. The Planning Analyst will assist in managing the success of one or more departments by meeting sales, comp, gross margin and inventory turn goals. They will analyze historical data and current trends to identify risk and opportunity for department or class and solicit ideas for issue resolution. The Planning Analyst will develop and communicate in-season department/ class/ style level markdown recommendations and strategies and execute promos and markdowns in partnership with pricing coordinator and others. This individual will recap and analyze actual sales results to plan and forecast in-season sales and inventories on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis. This person will incorporate information on market competitors in analysis and recommendations and identify opportunities for new tools or processes and actively participate in building them. They will partner with cross-functional counterparts to develop and communicate tactical plans to achieve timelines and deliverables and foster a collaborative, innovative and results-oriented work environment.

Job Requirements

  • BA/BS coupled with 1 - 2 years' experience in retail operations and planning
  • Possess a clear understanding of key financial measurements and have the ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
  • Must be flexible and adaptive to changing priorities
  • Have demonstrated logical analysis and problem-solving skills with the ability to build and maintain productive relationships with peers and cross-functional teams
