Gymboree is seeking a Merchandise Coordinator who is passionate, flexible, eager and seeking growth and exposure to all areas of the business. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, results-driven, proactive, and demonstrate strong communication skills.

The Merchandise Coordinator will be responsible for sample maintenance, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams for all merchandising sample needs. You will support the Merchandising team with sample maintenance and concise communication with cross-functional partners. You will also attend and actively participate in the development, packaging, business, and milestone meetings, with the goal to eventually own product categories independently.

Responsibilities:*

  • Work effectively as a member of the cross-functional team by communicating clearly and focusing on team objectives.
  • Manage Samples.
  • Keep samples organized and up to date for use in merchant presentations, visual set-ups, and seasonal marketing.
  • Plan and prioritize workload to meet deadlines and increase efficiency.
  • Work seasonally with other MC's to collect samples selected by Merchandising for sample sales.
  • Complete seasonal projects for merchants.
  • Maintain reports and tools, as needed by merchant team.
  • Ensures all reports and products are accurate and ready in advance of merchant meetings or on an as-needed basis
  • Works with merchants and production to communicate approvals to vendors

Job Requirements

  • BA/BS degree required with a minimum of 1 year of hands-on merchandising experience
  • Advanced computer skills in Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Suite with an aptitude for learning new programs
  • Demonstrate strong ability to be financially responsible and understand financial implications of mistakes
  • Strong organizational and planning skills to ensure timely and accurate execution of responsibilities
  • Strong ability to identify and execute priorities with a sense of urgency
  • Handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Have a pro-active approach to responsibilities
  • Strong communication and relationship/team skills
  • Ability to work independently, with little supervision
  • Retail experience preferred
