As the Senior Manager of the Gymboree Web Design team, you will be the key player in developing exciting, clean and innovative creative for emails and digital use across social and digital platforms. You are obsessed with beautiful design and passionate about delivering a cohesive and holistic customer experience. Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead and oversee development and execution of digital brand creative for all Email and Web campaigns and digital marketing, driving engagement across multiple channels including social and mobile.
  • Provide design and photo direction leadership, including seasonal brainstorms, concept development, and overarching graphic direction.
  • Communicate concepts through sketches, diagrams, wireframes, visual comps, and other prototypes.
  • Use an understanding of best practices associated with a successful and innovative retail website and eCommerce enterprise. Understand and interpret competitor offerings, customer feedback, site metrics and usability reports to create user-centered designs.
  • Introduce, develop, and ensure best design practices and processes are in place.
  • Work in tandem with the Brand Creative Services Sr. Creative director and collaborate with key internal stakeholders to meet business objectives and bring forth fresh, elevated, ever-evolving best-in-class creative.
  • Drive unique creative campaigns and design concepts that meet the business objectives and advance our brand strategy
  • Collaborate with the web, marketing and copy team members on daily needs for digital channels.
  • Able to successfully translate written content into a compelling visual story to create emotional connections between the brand and its key audiences.
  • Flexible and agile in the face of changing business needs while delivering against aggressive business goals and high expectations.
  • Push conceptual thinking and the latest design and technology trends creating responsive experiences that connect with our customers.
  • Refine and enforce brand equity and brand voice; maintain a consistent aesthetic across all channels and brand differentiation.
  • Be an expert in typography, color, and composition with a hawk eye for details and consistency.
  • Supervise and develop small creative team and contractors while balancing personal workflow and priorities.
  • Inspire, give effective feedback and guidance to the creative team to drive successful designs
  • Strong, level-headed and confident team player, excellent at working across teams and presenting to senior level Executives

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of retail/E-Commerce experience
  • Previous Management experience
  • BFA or MA in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, or Visual Studies.
  • Proficient in Adobe CS: Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, InDesign and Dreamweaver. Solid understanding of HTML & CSS. Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite
  • 8+ years professional digital design experience (in an agency or in-house design team). Relevant experience (ideally in a retail or e-commerce environment) with a lifestyle-oriented “trend-setting” brand.
  • Extremely strong graphic design, layout, typography, image manipulation and color correction skills.
  • Detail-oriented, well organized and able to thrive in a deadline-driven environment
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills. Must be willing to be flexible in job duties and take on added responsibility when necessary.
