Manager, Inventory Accounting - Janie and Jack

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will partner closely with teams across the organization and manage the month-end inventory close process while ensuring compliance with all internal controls. This position will be accountable for special projects within the department and will play a key role in the implementation and optimization of process and systems within the inventory space.


  • Responsible for monthly inventory accounting close process, including providing analysis to key business partners
  • Prepare and/or review various accounting entries related to inventory
  • Review account reconciliations and provide variance analysis
  • In partnership with key stakeholders, control inventory exposure through review of inventory components including creating reporting to highlight the aging of inventory and finished goods obsolescence.
  • Manage the overall physical inventory process, work closely with operations and auditors to ensure a robust inventory counting process
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes throughout the supply chain, while collaborating with cross-functional teams on owned processes, to drive greater efficiency and effectiveness
  • Assist with inventory related models and provisions inclusive of monthly adjustments impacting the financial statements

What You'll Bring

  • A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field is required
  • 3-5 years Big 4 accounting, as well as 2-3 years working in industry accounting
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience, preferably with retail industry and/or inventory accounting
  • Strong communication skills, willingness to follow through and make informed decisions that comply with policies and procedures
  • Analytical abilities with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders across multiple functions
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills required and experience with Oracle Financials R12 preferred
