Job Description

The Graphic Designer: Social will work in tandem with the creative team to develop and produce eye-catching creative for Gymboree’s social presence, ecommerce website, email campaigns, and online marketing, as well as various all-brand specialty collateral.


  • Work closely with Creative Director/Social Teams to develop and create thoughtful, fun, and compelling social campaigns (including animation, illustration, video/image development, html/coding and graphic design).
  • Main objective is to increase Gymboree’s brand engagement in the social space with the work that they do.
  • Actively participate and help drive the creative process by presenting well-developed fun creative ideas and solutions to meet the given objectives.
  • Assist in integrating social ideas into the e-commerce website, email campaigns and store experience.
  • Take initiative and partner with brand/web/copy teams to design elevated and original layouts on a fast-paced, tight schedule.
  • Work with business and copy teams to clarify objectives, revise creative and ensure accuracy for all projects.
  • Responsible for staying current on industry trends, and share thoughtful updates and innovative creative that pushes the brand forward.
  • Work across creative disciplines to drive the best customer experience solutions.
  • Work with the creative/web team to create concept directions for social photo shoots as needed.
  • As needed, develop creative for all brand (Gymboree/Janie and Jack/Crazy 8) marketing collateral, for example: event collateral for all brand meetings/events.

Job Requirements

  • BFA in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Visual Studies or other design-related field. 3-5 years of professional experience in web design or multimedia required
  • Experience designing for the retail environment with a lifestyle-oriented “trend-setting” brand is strongly preferred
  • Strong graphic design, layout, typography, image manipulation, and color correction skills.
  • Hand illustration/artistic talent and experience desired
  • Extremely proficient in CC Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Dreamweaver & HTML. This person must also have proficiency with InDesign
  • Detail-oriented, well organized and able to thrive in deadline driven environment.
  • The ideal candidate will have the ability to manage competing, high priority projects while identifying creative solutions quickly
  • Have the ability to self-direct under ambiguous and changing circumstances.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Must be willing to be flexible in job duties and take on added responsibility when necessary
