What You’ll Do

In this role, you will contribute to the success of Gymboree by ensuring regulatory compliance, accident prevention, injury management, site security, and continuous improvement. The EHS Manager has responsibility to analyze data and develop and implement actionable safety solutions. The EHS Manager is expected to provide collaborative, proactive, and creative problem solving ability to develop best-in-class EHS programs for the improvement of the overall EHS strategy across a large, complex, multi-shift operation.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the EHS department and manage DC site security
  • Implement, execute, and ensure compliance with EHS policies, all federal, state, and local regulations
  • Lead the development and implementation of an EHS action plan for the facility
  • Set an monitor annual targets rates for Recordable, Lost Time, and Severity metrics
  • Develop, implement, execute, and manage strategies to prevent workplace injuries, environmental incidents, and accidents
  • Demonstrate solid employee relations experience, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Display strong problem solving, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Demonstrate professional maturity and ability to act as a change leader by influencing all levels of the organization to drive continuous improvement in EHS performance
  • Conduct EHS activities such as training/auditing/risk assessing to ensure ongoing compliance/conformance with regulatory agency requirements
  • Perform risk assessments and assist in the implementation of effective physical and/ or behavioral control measures (assessing the effectiveness of in-place control measures as needed)
  • Identify unsafe equipment operation and conditions while demonstrating knowledge of appropriate corrective action for unsafe conditions or equipment use
  • Complete root cause analysis and develop corrective action plans to address root basic causes through the use of industry-recognized cause analysis techniques (e.g., 5-Why, 8-D, etc.)

Job Requirements

What You’ll Bring

  • Safety management experience in an industrial environment
  • Safety degree and/or related certifications, Bachelor's Degree with greater than 3 years' work experience in EHS preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of State and Federal regulations and practices pertaining to the distribution environment (OSHA, HAZMAT)
  • Knowledge and experience with EHS Management metrics and their deployment
  • Experience quality improvement Initiatives or methodologies preferred (e.g., ISO 9001, Lean, Six Sigma, and/or Kaizen)
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills including public speaking skills and presence in meetings and training environments
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent organizational skills
  • Use PC and related software (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines
