What You’ll Do

In this role, you will be responsible for approving and coordinating the quality of color for fabric, trim, artwork and accessories from lab dip to bulk for a division within a brand. S/He is responsible for maintaining relationships and ongoing communication with fabric mills and our overseas agents. This person works with our production, design and merchant teams while continually evaluating color approvals and improving efficiency. In addition, this team provides color seasonal tools to help influence creative decisions and bulk execution.

Responsibilities include:

  • Approve color and coordination for a specific line within a brand by season.
  • Manage development calendar due dates by division and by delivery; manage necessary tools, and ensure completion as per deadlines.
  • Support department initiatives and strategies.
  • Daily communication with overseas mills and agents.
  • Problem-solve technical and aesthetic issues daily with cross functional partners, and ability to influence creative partners based on technical and aesthetic credibility.
  • Support technical color process improvements and strategies with key mills and agents.
  • Assist fabric team with color comments for after wash submits.
  • Manage all print and yarn dye approvals for brand, and ensure color matching within our spectrophotometer tolerance for outfitting between all categories within a collection.

Job Requirements

What You’ll Bring

  • BA/BS Degree preferred: Minimum 3-5 years of related industry experience.
  • Well versed in color technology, trained in spectrophotometer reading.
  • Thorough knowledge of color development process, technical print and dye process and techniques and the product development process.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to influence and communicate with all cross functional partners: credible aesthetically and technically.
  • Ability to lead meetings with appropriate command skills.
  • Problem solving, planning and organizational skills.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong PC skills: Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
