This is an excellent opportunity to join the accounting team of a $1B+ retail company as an Accountant. This role will focus on accounting for payroll / benefits / prepaid / leases and general accruals. Working under the guidance of a Senior Accounting Manager, responsibilities of the Accountant will include:

  • Processing bi-weekly accounting for payroll
  • Maintaining and reconciling payroll / benefits / leases / prepaid and accruals GL accounts, including monthly journal entries and resolving items in account reconciliations
  • Performing quarterly fluctuation analysis on payroll / benefits / leases / prepaid and accruals balance sheet accounts
  • Providing support for our quarterly internal and external audits, including preparing audit schedules and ensuring internal controls are operating effectively in areas of responsibility.
  • Performing ad hoc research/analysis and completing special projects as needed

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of general accounting experience, preferably a combination of public accounting and industry
  • Must possess strong communication skills, be detail-oriented, and work effectively both independently as well as in a team environment
  • Must be able to apply consistent standards while adapting to frequent changes in Company requirements
  • Be flexible and able to work with frequent interruptions and changing priorities
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills are required
  • Experience with payroll, lease accounting, Oracle Financials and FAS preferred
